OUT'S GUIDE TO FRAT BOYS, ATHLETICS SUPPORTERS, AND BIG MEN ON CAMPUS!!!

The best years of your life? Not if you went to school when gay students gathered in the shadows. But with more options than ever for the homosexualy inclined, your alma mater (or your future school choice) never looked so good.

Best Small School where Size Doesnt Matter

The best small school in the country for gays is the big O. Anything you can do. Oberlin College can do gayer. The tiny Ohio school's progressive history is legendary. It was the first college in the country to go coed and one of the first colleges in the world to admit blacks. In 2002 it even gave trans gendered students priority in choosing single-student dorm rooms.
"At Oberlin you're gay until proven innocent," says Ben Feinberg-Gerner, a junior. He chose Oberlin over similar liberal arts colleges because of its very out. very proud campus life which includes an annual Safer Sex Night, complete with porn projected on buildings and an any thing goes Tent of Consent. "At other colleges." Femberg-Geriief says, "people aren't gay unless they have a dick in their mouth. Here you can be open about being whatever kind of gay you want to tie. But Oberlin isn't a hedonistic sex party all the time or even ever. It's just open to that.''

"At the end of school, I snapped during finals, and so I dressed in drag for a week to make myself feel better. I got no harassment. Actually. I got compliments," says Darwin Rodriguez, a sophomore and leader of a gay umbrella student group who also says that 51% of the campus identifies as "not straight." "Oberlin exists in a bubble," he says. "It's so disconnected from the real world. Other colleges have football games. We have Drag Ball. Everyone gets in drag straights, the whole campus and it's accepted, not even questioned. It's just who we are."

Best Campus for Theater Queens & Arts

Take one naked student, add itching, set for eight hours. That was the recipe for a performance art piece at Brown University in Providence, R.I., last school year. The alma mater of JFK Jr. who also dabbled in acting while there, is the best place to be an artsy gay student. Specifically, College Hill, with Brown on top and the Rhode Island School of Design (a.k.a RISD, pronounced "RlZZ-dee") on bottom along with Trinity Repertory Company, which has a partnership with Brown.

"Every theater moment is gay, especially musical theater." says John McCutcheon, a junior who has performed in Bdtboy and Into the Woods and choreographed an original musical about Brown student life—as well as handled set design for shows, including dadaist murals for Hedwig snd the Angry Inch. "Anyone who enters the theater community—any guy—is immediately suspect," says McCutcheon. "Guys will go to great lengths to test another guy's sexual limits." One artistic endeavorinspire another, so tribute to the boys of Brown, we offer a frou frou haiku: Brown Theater boys, Pushing sexual limits... Tool late to transfer?

Largest Gay Endowment

Eight is usually just the start of the range that impresses most numbers queens, but among college endowments such a number is as big as it gets. The $7.5 million endowment for the Charles R. Williams Project on Sexual Orientation and the Lew at the University of California. Los Angeles, is "the largest donation ever given to any academic institution in support of a gay and lesbian academic program in any discipline," according to the school. Although it's part of the law school, undergrads can hear speakers, intern, and help make selections for the school's law journal. Whatever they do. they don't underestimate the thickness of UCLA's...wallet.

Best Campus to get rushed by Frats !!!

There's a lot about frat boys that's pretty gay already. Pledging loving submission to men who paddle, strip, and drink their way into each other's hearts, .c'mon, guys. Still, there's perhaps no college where gay Greek life means more than at the University of Virginia, where alternative life used to mean wearing an orange tie with blue stripes rather than a blue tie with orange stripes. The landscape is already flush with preppy Southerners in plenty of secret societies as well as fraternities—and now one group is officially gay. out, and proud.

This year a club called Out on Rugby became a chapter of Delta Lambda Phi. 3 nationwide gay frat house. But it's not the first group to offer fraternal men-on-men loving. The Greek Men's Club, started in fall 2003, Involves about a dozen members of varying levels of outness who belong to "straight frat houses" and meet in a secrst location that changes every two weeks. Matt Maring (delta upsilonj, an '04 grad, started the group. "People are finally growing up and realising that gays aren't bad, that they don'i: go Greek to get ass," he says. Despite changing attitudes, he adds. "There are still so many secrets out there in the UVA Greek system." He notes, "Our group is not a gay Greek circle jerk. It's a place where people feel comfortable being themselves, finding other kids in the same situation. It's brotherhood."

One club member who's partially out spoke anonymously because of the RDTC program. A junior in a frat that had an out president, he's out to about a third of his 30-some brothers He doesn't hide his sexuality; he just doesn't broadcast it. "When I came out, it felt natural. It wasn't because of pressure," he says. "That's the thing. 1 know my brothers iove me. There's never pressure in a bad way. Not really."

Best College for Gay to pull an All - Nighter !!!

Scholarly gay students can choose to bone up on gay psychology, gay literature, gay film, gay history, gay law, ant) gay pretty-much-anything these days. Best Campus to meet Mr. Right !!!

When you're looking for your gay Mr. Right you want to play your odds straight. Figuring the old l-m-10 rule, the school with the most students is your best shot. Luckily, that happens to be in a liberal city with a name worthy of a gay porn star: Austin. That'd be the University of Texas at Austin, which is swarming With some 50,000 students (so around 5.000 chances'?).

So what is today's UT looking for? "My boyfriend first and foremost should be my best friend," says Brendan Rilsy, a senior Tyler Benton, a junior, agrees: "Getting off with people is easy, but I don't get anything out of it if there's no feeling in it. Boyfriends are 10 times better than strangers. Always " But watch out. "The best part of UT is that all the gays here are pretty 'normal,' well-rounded," says Riley. "If your fife revolves around being gay, nobody wants that."

Best Campus to meet Mr. Right Now !!!

Wouldn't it be nice to put all the horny kids with experimental sex on the brain in one dorm? Folks at the University of Iowa agree. Beginning in the fall of 2005, one floor in a residence hall will be set aside for students curious about sexuality studies. Technically called a "learning community," the floor will host biweekly programs such as movies and lectures put on by professors of sexuality studies.

10 Question for Danny RR

1. Why did you audition for Road Rules?

Honestly, I originally wanted to be on The Real World, but I knew I would probably be chosen for Road Rules. Who wouldn’t’ want to be on Road Rules though? You get to travel and do some crazy sh** that no one would ever get to do, plus you get to meet some really cool people…and it’s all FREE!!!

2. What were you doing when you found out you were going to be on the show?

I was on my way home from the bank when I got a phone call from the producer letting me know I was selected to be on Road Rules. At the time I was sick with the flu, so I probably didn’t sound very excited over the phone but I was crazy ecstatic inside. I immediately called my mom, boyfriend, and best friend to tell them the good news.

3. What questions were going through your head before the trip?

Before the trip all I kept wondering was: How the hell am I going to share an RV when I can barely share a house with my mother? I didn’t know what to pack or how much to pack. It didn’t feel real. It didn’t really sink in that I was going to be on Road Rules. Once I was flying down to South America it finally sunk in that I was going to be on Road Rules, I started getting nervous. I was hoping to have an awesome time down in South America and to kick some major ass.

4. What was your life like before the show? Describe a typical day in your life, pre-Road Rules.

I’d roll out of bed and shower. Go to my classes for the day, and then come home to find my boyfriend still sleeping in bed (which made me really envious of him). Watch a little television while getting ready for the gym. Next, I’d go to the gym for about an hour and a half, to maintain this hot-ass body of mine. Then I’d go to work till the late hours of the night and then come home to cuddle in bed with my better half.

5. What are you passionate about? What do you love? What inspires you?

I love to act. I’ve been performing for years and when I’m on stage I just feel home. It’s such an amazing feeling to become another person for a moment in time. Obtaining knowledge is so important to me because “knowledge is power” and I’m a BIG power freak. Sex is always important, especially with me because I’m a very sexual person. Making money because I’m a greedy bastard and I want to have a huge house and lots o' cars like the ones in those rap videos. I want to be Big Pimpin’. Going to the gym because bigger is better and I want everyone to be like, “Damn, he’s f***ing hot!” Last but definitely not least… “Ooooo, I love myself!” Oh yeah, and I love my mom and boyfriend too.

6. What is your romantic status?

Before I started Road Rules I had been dating a guy for ten months and we are still dating. It's going pretty well except for the way I act sometimes. I can be a real d*** sometimes and I love him for sticking it out.

7. Have you ever had your heart broken or broken someone else's heart?

I’ve had both. My heart was broken by my first boyfriend, MJ, when I found out he had been cheating on me with a lot of other people and how he ended it so abruptly. I think what made it so tough was that he was my first and I let myself fall for him. I also had my heart broken by another ex-boyfriend, Ryan, when I found out that while we were trying to patch up our relationship, he was sleeping with his roommate and he had been leading me on. But you live and learn form these experiences.

8. What do you find attractive? What qualities do you look for in someone you'd like to date?

In guys--I like guys with muscles. Lately, I’ve had this thing for guys with a buzzed haircut. Don’t ask me why, but it makes me squirm. I like the rugged looking guy, but I love preppy boys too. I like the Abercrombie type. Athletic, nice smile, good hygiene, good sense of style, sweet, sense of humor, charming, nice butt, and a HUGE…brain. I hate guys who think their sh** doesn’t stink. If I’m going to date a guy, he needs to have a decent sex drive and has to want me for me. He also needs to have aspirations and goals because I can’t be dating a slacker.

In girls--I like exotic looking girls who don’t’ wear a lot of make-up. I’m into the natural beauties. I’ve always had a thing for Asian girls. Good hygiene, hot sexy, smart, sense of style, funny, nice smile. I like the Jessica Simpson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Natalie Portman types. I don’t like girls who are bitchy and have to get smart with their boyfriends. I also don’t like girls who wear Juicy Couture on their ass.

9. Before this trip, what was the coolest place you'd ever traveled to?

I went to Portugal when I was young, but I don’t remember it so I’d have to say Miami, Florida. I like the beach and hot weather.
